30 Secrets Behind The Writer , blog post

These are some secret secrets. Shh.

  1. You’ve only seen one side of me- Drem. She is an alias.
  2. Contrary to popular belief, I actually have good days. I just don’t write about them under Drem because they aren’t nearly as interesting as my self-destructive mind.
  3. I was a professional journalist and photographer for, like, 10 years or so. I started really young. I covered music. Free tickets- woo.
  4. I’ve talked to all the boys in those bands. I’ve been to all the afterparties. I learned everyone is lonely and everyone is a moron- doesn’t matter how famous you are or how pretty you are.
  5. In real life all I talk about is sex and drugs (explicitly) and I use a lot of profanity.
  6. People say I’m funny and I think I’m funny sometimes. Especially when strip Cards Against Humanity is involved with a copious amount of Pink Vodka at one of my many dress up theme parties (Superhero themed, Nintendo 64 themed, Hello Kitty themed, Celebration of Sex themed…)
  7. Most of my closest friends are from high school.
  8. A lot of my friends and exes have overdosed. It’s just a part of living here.
  9. I have tattoos and piercings.
  10. I  write things a lot. Have for a long time. And I post them sometimes. And then I fall in hate with them.
  11. When I don’t get comments on what I post, I sometimes feel like my work was a waste of time. I know you are busy and I shouldn’t take it personally. It’s just me being a sensitive fuck.
  12. I don’t like my past and it doesn’t like me (thanks subconscious) but it is what it is- a haunting but great source of inspiration.
  13. Reading under the DEPRESSION tag makes me super depressed because I’m a manic depressive and everyone else is a manic depressive.
  14. I’m one of those people who goes to nerd cons and I’m SUPER mad Syfy is showing less and less science fiction.
  15. My cousin said I speak poetically (despite my New York accent). He doesn’t know I write poetry. I don’t know what he means by it. /dramatic_shrug
  16.  I’m rebellious and stubborn and am usually right because I think way too much about a situation before I speak. Unlike others who just talk for the sake of talking.
  17. I don’t like talking.
  18. I have learned to save myself before others. It was either me or him. I chose me. I was 15 when I left home. And, I LIVED.
  19. I had to write my Living Will at 23 because I have a higher chance of dying each time I get my chemo. That first time changed everything. And I revamped my life. Left a fucking asshole lowlife scum of the Earth abusive dirtbag. Since then, I’ve been free and having a lot more fun… in all different ways… with all different people (:
  20. I spend all my money (the little I get) on fine art. Contemporary. Mostly pop surrealism, lowbrow, and street graffiti prints. Please talk to me about it. It’s one of the few things I still love. I’m a freelance curator and I work with pieces created late ’50s to mid ’70s.
  21. My Cat is my best friend. You can read all about him if you want on my I’m Sorry Cat series.
  22. I’m the biggest Sci Fi fan (Gate>Trek>Wars) and I play Dungeons and Dragons and I’m a retired competitive World of Warcraft player (oh the shame!). I also paint my own mini figures and started designing castles and general medieval scenes.
  23. I found out I knew how to draw folk art yesterday.
  24. I’m going to school for museum curatorship in Europe for my MA but I keep delaying because I have a lot going on with the chemo and the depression and the whole general being fucked in the ass without lube by life itself thing.
  25. I still plan on dying in this bed alone.
  26. I’ve never been in love but they’ve all loved me. It’s not my fault. I didn’t mean for it to happen that way. At this point, I don’t believe in love at all. But I’m single and up for anything in the mean time.
  27. Besides the depression/bp2 and stuff, I live with Multiple Sclerosis, arthritis, optic neuritis, linear scleroderma, and other painful and annoying diseases. Yeah, you wouldn’t be happy either.
  28. I believe in God because I believe in Hell. It’s the only thing that brings me comfort because I never got justice for what was done to me on Earth. Hell is the only hope I have.
  29. I got my first “fine line” on my forehead. The end is coming. Oh God.
  30. If you write to heal, know I love you even if I don’t know you. And I support your process. And I hear your voice. And I am here for you, no matter where you are.

      3. The perks of collecting blu ray steelbooks is pretty covers and multiple viewings of great movies…The downfall is you start to see the flaws. unless it’s disney animation.
