Inspiration: Bohemian-esque Patterns From Around The World

These are rugs from the 1950s-1970s. Patterns are great inspirations for not only descriptions in poetry, but when painting or drawing. One can also set the scene in a short story by describing the rug. I really think rugs are totally not given enough attention. Fuck flowers. Let’s talk about rugs!

I’ve been plagued with a rug obsession. I need one for my room. But, rugs are very expensive- particularly the vintage ones from Pakistan or Turkey or wherever.

So, until I can afford to buy one,  I collect images of the ones I want. And then I use the images as inspirations in my pop-surrealism folk drawings (which I may upload someday).   They also just make me happy to look at.
