Escaping To Live (The Locked Away Goddess), a poem by Drem

“And if I go just a bit closer,

lean over a bit longer

against a rod iron bar

below the sky of Orion

lighted by him

and some couple’s first kiss

that’s a million miles below

this heavenly world…

If I just go a bit closer

and open my eyes a bit wider

to see not what’s ahead-

tears of stars cried by Saturn

caused by pain so long ago acquired

matching the silver

rings of a couple,

some random Spring lovers in passion-

I will see.

I want to see for myself what’s below.

I don’t really know

because I can’t really know

from back here on your knee.

My perspective is shaped

by your almond eyes.

So I beg you, just christen me free.

Understand if I go,

just go,

out on the crisp edge

of safety

I’m ready.

Let me.

I’ll come back.

And after

I’ll pretend.

I’ll pretend

I didn’t experience snow.

That I didn’t see delicately laced hands

holding each other to dance

as their human heart’s danced

in their chests

matching the rhythm

of passion,

of connection

and complete pure attention.

I’ll savor the air

I once breathed in my lungs.

My insides will know what love feels like-

what it’s like to be real.

I’d like to be real for once in my lifetime.”

      1. “Locked away goddess, escaping to live. I’d like to be real for once in my lifetime.”….

Revival/renewal ….rebirth, the unlocking and the escape to life’s reality. Maybe, too a spiritual awakening unlocks and sets free, as well! %-\
