Today the borough where I was born was trending on Facebook for a drug OD in a neighborhood breakfast restaurant we all frequently visit.
You know it’s bad when you start going to more funerals for teenagers and 20 somethings than senior citizens.
You know it’s bad when suicides are not shocking anymore.
Drug addiction is taking over the boroughs of New York and we are all paying for it with tears that can fill an ocean, and lives that could have been saved. Lives that could have been changed. Futures with potential taken from us.
I never considered addiction as a disease because I have MS and other diseases. But, this is spreading like a disease. I’m starting to reconsider.
There is nothing worse than losing a child. Please don’t judge them. And please don’t forget that.
