Rainbow Tears In Swimming Eyes, a poem by Drem

I keep rewriting this now. I have a terrible headache and stomach ache which isn’t helping. I didnt’ sleep much at all. /yawn

Also, I own a signed print in the Featured Image! It’s by Camilla d’Errico.

One of these days I’ll do a  post highlighting my treasured art collection.

Rainbow Tears In Swimming Eyes, a poem by Drem

May 2012

“As I cry and cry

rainbows fall out of my eyes

made from good and bad things,

memories I try

to drip out

from my mind,

to drip out of me.

And as I look up to tell you

what had happened

the world turns to paper.

It’s flammable.

And delicate.

But my mouth

isn’t.

 I tear it

into confetti

outside the wedding

and a Sweet 16 birthday

in the adjoining hallway.

I don’t care who it hurts.

The world,

it still turns.

I’m not being listened to

by you.

I want to get out of the process.

This danger

of addiction

to narcotics.

To get them out of my head.

And my fear of ugly, ugly rainbows

they sting as they drop

from the swimming skies on top

that are my eyes.

Even if I stop thinking the bad thoughts,

they only linger more.

Especially on my birthday.

And particular seasons.

And when I start a new chapter

to move forward.

I think about what happened.

And it comes like a wave

over my body

drowning me in them

all over again.

These things that fall from me

may have been made inside me

but they come from you.

From nights before.

And days before.

You were there.

You.

Humans disguised as demons

danced over the watches I wore.

They took over my time.

So take them.

And take all my memories.

I rather have nothing

than all the bad mixed with the good

and take the tears that they’re made of

that sting as they drop

from the swimming skies on top

that are my eyes.”

  1. I feel I swim with you through the pain. What a beautiful image of rainbow tears…
Is that your art work, as well? It captures the feelings of the piece so well, with elegant curls at the base.
Lovely. May you find peace from your pain.

    1. Hi Tiffany,
      Thank you so much!
And no. But, I am a collector of that artist! Her name is Camilla d’Errico. I have one of her sketches, 3 large prints, and 2 posters. I collect a lot of art… xD

  2. That art print! *swoon*

And the perfect poem to accompany it.
The first stanza was my favourite ❤

    “As I cry and cry
rainbows fall out of my eyes
made from good and bad things,
    memories I try
    to drip out
    from my mind,
    to drip out of me."
