I don’t think I posted this one. I’m super tired. I want to go to sleep. My cat is mad I’m typing because it’s waking him up.
Also, I inserted the whole middle part just now and it essentially changed the entire poem. And then I changed a lot more. I admit I have no idea what I’m doing.
Be Who I Dream, a poem by Drem
“Blocks make up the exteriors
of the house
you built around yourself.
I wish I had a gust of wind
to destroy, make active
the people within.
Wake up! Wake up!
Be my dream.
Wake up from your sleep
and touch me.
From the autumn light
you look a little familiar.
You look like someone I saw in a mirror.
Must have been a long time ago.
In any case, it doesn’t matter.
I believe in you.
You’re not alone.
Reach for the window
but I don’t know it.
You’re trapped right in your own bed.
Use your feet to push yourself
out of your own self-doubt.
Dramatically go charge over lakes and streams
leaving a trail of ripples in the water.
Displace the sand, whisk away the leaves.
Let go of who you are
and be who I dream.
Let go of the chains in your mind.
Let go of the person you were
or who you want to be.
Be the person who I dream you to be.
It’s better than you could ever imagine.
