Thinking & Breathing Part 3, a poem by Drem

Written September 8th, 2015

“Dark, quiet.

Dark, quiet.

I’m in you

and you can’t fight it.

I’m in you

and you like it.

I give you the company,

little thing,

since no one talks to your

hopeless face.

I’m here serving

you something.

They are bad thoughts

but they give you company.

So give me a kiss

and let’s cuddle or something

as we watch the nightmares

of your real life

together.

Together forever,

together forever.

I’m with you, babe,

forever

to watch your nightmares:

all your pain,

all your chemo,

and brain scans,

and trajectory charts,

and count downs…

months left.

Narcotics

that make us

both nauseas.

A necessity –

keep popping.

Get us

temporarily

happy.

Months left,

then hospital stays.

This is now, babe!

This is tomorrow, babe!

And nobody loves you.

I’m only here

because like you

I can’t move.

But we’ll be together forever.

Today and tomorrow

till you take off

and shut down

and go the way you want to.

But, that’s okay babe!

I’ll watch it play.

Till the end i’m here.

Dark and quiet.

Together till your end.

Dark and quiet.
