Tears, Pills, & Blades – a poem by Drem

Tears, Pills, & Blades is a poem I wrote on November 9, 2015.

Take what you want from it. Tell me what you think. I’m listening.

Tears, Pills, & Blades by Drem

Written November 9th, 2015

“There’s this ever-growing

part of me

that wants to turn off the faucet

of my crying heart

and leaking eyes

off.

I can’t hear more lies

for the sake of my heart and my eyes.

Hope is hard to find.

It’s elusive, air,

intangible, unable to grab

like light.

And though there are bits of glitter here and there

shining amongst the tears and pills and glistening blades

reminding me light exists,

the light illuminates

…nothing that exciting.

No, most often, it’s just more of the same.

Just my own tears,

my own pills,

my own blades.”
